A Warm Blanket
Nov. 30th, 2009 01:31 amIt wasn't much different than it always had been, she decided. Everything had changed within her, but the world didn't care about that. She felt she ought to feel disturbed at that revelation, but the changes within her had pushed her blind fear of the future aside. No longer could anyone ignore her, no longer would she feel excluded from her peers because her mind was too old and her body too young. The change within her wrapped her in a warm blanket and whispered to her that her future no longer aimlessly wavered about, out of control. As long as she was within that blanket, and Isa assured her it would be forever, she felt like she could be in the world again. It had been so long since she felt like this. When she woke, under Isa's careful touch that encouraged her to return to what she had fled, and Isa's insistence that she would and could and should return, she found herself taller and clumsier. Her body could not respond to what she asked it to do, and there were several moments where she would've considered giving up if Isa wasn't there to remind her of the fire in her heart she'd tried to forget.
